Which book have you read more than any other?

If I had to name the one book I’ve read more than any other, it’s not even a close call.

The Bible.

Not because I’ve mastered it or finished it more times than anyone else, but because every time I open it, it somehow ends up reading me.

I’ve read plenty of good books over the years.

Books that stretched my thinking.

Books that inspired me.

Books that gave me practical tools I still use.

A lot of them still sit on my shelf for a reason.

But Scripture is different.

It’s not just something I take in. It’s something that keeps shaping me.

There are passages I’ve read over and over again, and somehow I still see something new each time.

Sometimes God meets me with comfort.

Sometimes with correction.

Sometimes with conviction.

Sometimes with just enough clarity to take the next step.

The words haven’t changed.

I have.

That’s one of the things I’ve come to love about walking with Christ. As I grow, the same verses seem to speak in new ways, because the Holy Spirit is still at work in me.

That’s why I keep coming back.

Not to check a box.

Not to keep a streak going.

But because I want to hear God’s voice a little more clearly today than I did yesterday.

The more time I spend in Scripture, the more I realize God isn’t just trying to give me information.

He’s shaping me into the image of Christ.

So yeah, I’ve read a lot of good books; and I’m thankful for them.

But the one I’ll keep coming back to for the rest of my life is the one that keeps changing me every time I open it.
