Do not let a crisis go to waste.

Do not let a crisis go to waste.

Let this time be a time that, we the church, show the world that we have a hope and a rock on which we stand.

We’ve heard the saying “do not let a crisis go to waste” from a certain group of individuals. They state it so that their ideas and agendas passed through the government. Most of their positions do not produce liberty, but they take liberty and freedom away from individuals. The idea is to use crises to push legislation that, in normal times, would never get passed.

I hear the Voice of God saying, “ Do not let this crisis go to waste!”

Use this time to be bold and fearless. Fearless, not only of the virus, but of man. Why do we as a whole shirk from our command of sharing our hope with others? Why do we quietly live our lives of hope, peace and love without boldly speaking His name? Fear of man! Fear of what others think of us. Fear of being alone. Fear of rejection. Fear of isolation. Fear.

Why are we afraid?

Why would we hesitate in sharing the reason of our peace to others in a time of panic and chaos? We have the answer to it all.

Do not let this crisis go to waste.

Now is the time to speak peace and hope to those you come near. Now is the time. Of all the generations that you could have been created in, God in His great wisdom created you for this time. He chose you to live through this time. He made the decision to have you here during this crisis. He chose you and me. He chose us for such a time as this in such a place as this for this reason; to not let this crisis go to waste.

This is the most holy season in our faith. Easter is right around the corner. What does Easter mean to you? Well, Easter is the day that Jesus defeated, once and for all, death!

3 days prior He was beaten with a cat-o-nine tails. That whip had bone, metal and/or rocks attached to it. It was made to rip flesh to the bone. A crown of thorns was forced onto His head causing severe bleeding. He was kicked, punched, ridiculed, spat upon. Only He knows what else. He carried His wooden cross to the place of His execution. He was nailed to that cross. He and His cross was lifted up into place jarring Him as it slid in the hole dug for it. He hung on His cross suffocating. Each time he rose to breath, He had to lift His weight onto His nailed feet causing extreme agony.

He did not let that crisis go to waste.

He chose to forgive His executioners. He prayed, “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do.”

He ministered to a criminal while dying.

He made sure His mother was taken care of.

In the middle of His most agonizing hours, He loved and forgave. He didn’t stop being who He was because of the situation He found himself in.

Do not let this crisis go to waste.

While we celebrate this Easter season, let’s not waste this time. We that have a saving faith in Jesus, must be His hands, feet and voice today. Do you have a family next door that needs something? Are you an essential employee that is blessed by still being employed? Are there coworkers that are scared, nervous, someone that needs a moment of your time?

Be Jesus to them.

Love them, call them, share the reason for your peace. Pray for them!

Be Jesus to them.

Don’t let this crisis go to waste!
