I wouldn’t call myself a world traveler, but I’ve been to a lot of places. Mostly up and down the East Coast. Here is my top ten places I’ve visited.
1. Copper Harbor, MI
I had the pleasure to visit Copper Harbor with my wife in 2016. We were dropping our son off at Finlandia University, located in Hancock, MI and had a few days to chill. We decided to make the quick 30 min drive to the end of the world and were not disappointed!

This is the most beautiful place I’ve ever visited. Tons of scenic views and a historic fort to tour. It’s located at the tip of the Keweenaw Peninsula , which I call the “mouth of the wolf”. The wolf being Lake Superior.
2. Seneca Rocks, WV
We used to live not far from this, and had the pleasure to climb here often. Located in Pendleton County, WV. Seneca Rocks is a favorite of climbers, hikers, and campers. There are numerous campsites in the area and the local folks are genuinely friendly!

3. Natural Chimneys, VA
For a few years, my family and I lived just north of this natural wonder! We visited it a few times and we always amazed at the awesomeness of God’s creation!

4. Blue Ridge Parkway, VA
A winding road up and down the Blue Ridge Mountains! Plenty of pull offs and scenic views! It never gets old taking a trip to see these incredible views and awesome beauty. But, be careful!!!! Plenty of times while driving these roads we’ve run into deer, bears, fox, and many other wild animals.

5. Forked Lake, NY
Forked Lake is located in the Adirondack Park in New York State. I’ve been camping in a few areas in NY, but Forked Lake is special. It’s usually less crowded than the other more popular sites and the fishing is abundant! I spent a week here when I was a teen and long to revisit this place. It’s a dream location. Loons are heard echoing off the lake nightly.

6. Mount Dora, FL
Mt. Dora is an oasis of Victorian Era style located in the middle of the basic Florida Landscape. Shops and restaurants line the downtown street. An awesome place to visit to shop or to tour the local architecture.

7. Gettysburg, PA
What needs to be said about Gettysburg? The battlefield is incredible (I recommend you watch the movie first to get your baring). There are guided tours or also an auto tour. We drove through the battlefield and stopped at numerous sites. If you want to see everything and take your time… take 2 days.

Not only is the battlefield awesome, the town of Gettysburg is also worth some time to discover. The historic spots, shops, and restaurants abound.
8. Cape Cod, MA
From incredible beaches and lighthouses to watching the fishermen haul in their catch, Cape Cod is everybody should go to at least once in your life!

9. Monterey, VA
Monterey is located in Highland County, VA, also referred to as “Virginia’s Switzerland”. From the Highland County Fair, to the Maple Festival, this pretty little town is one of a kind!

10. Ausable Chasm
The Ausable Chasm is unreal! On the way up to Canada for a summer vacation in 1980, my family and I stopped here and I forever have been blown away. Considered the “Grand Canyon of the Adirondacks”, the chasm is about 2 miles long and you can float down it in the raft. Day Rates
